LINKING & LEARNING PROGRAMME ON ESC RIGHTS FOR THE LATIN AMERICA REGION
Social Watch and Dignity International are pleased to announce that the application procedure to the LINKING & LEARNING PROGRAMME ON ESC RIGHTS FOR THE LATIN AMERICA REGION that will take place in Uruguay, from 7 to 15 November 2005 is now open. A limited number of partial or full funded scolarlships will be provided by the organisers. Hundreds of organizations endorse the civil society Benchmark for the Millennium Summit+5
Last June 23 the General Assembly of the United Nations held hearings with NGOs, civil society organizations and the private sector, in preparation of the Millennium Summit+5 that will take place in September 2005.

Poverty, Human Rights and Security will be discussed by the heads of State and government of the world. Yet there are very limited opportunities for citizens to express themselves in this process. We need to make our voices heard.

The High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development took place at UN Headquarters in New York on 27 and 28 June 2005. The overall theme of the High-level Dialogue was "The Monterrey Consensus: status of implementation and tasks ahead".

Members of Social Watch participated in the High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development.

The 2004 Social Watch report will be launched in Cairo
The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) organised a press conference for the launching of the Arabic edition of the Social Watch 2004 Annual Report at the Flamenco Hotel in Cairo, the 11 of May 2005. Representatives of various Arab Civil Society Organizations, from 14 Arab countries: Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Bahrain, Sudan, Morocco, Tunis, Algeria, Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt will attend the press conference.
